What is upselling?

A sales tactic where a supplier or seller encourages the buyer to purchase a more expensive or upgraded version of a product or service. The goal is to raise revenue from each transaction while offering the customer improved quality or functionality. For example, a vendor may recommend an upgraded software license with analytics tools and priority support instead of a basic option without these benefits.
