What is undercapitalization?

A financial condition in which a company doesn’t have enough capital or funding to support its operations and fulfill obligations. Common in startups and fast-growing companies, undercapitalization can lead to challenges with paying employees or investing in new opportunities. For example, a startup that relies only on a small initial investment and cannot cover operating costs without external funding is undercapitalized.
