It is with this understanding and commitment that we undertook the rigorous process of the SOC 2 Type II audit.

Precoro is now fully compliant with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Trust Service Criteria for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy, as verified by an external audit and the issuance of an SOC 2 Type II report. Read on to learn more about SOC 2 and what our compliance with its criteria means for our customers.

What is SOC 2 Type 2?

SOC 2, or Service Organization Control 2, is an auditing procedure developed by the AICPA that evaluates the extent to which a service organization manages customer data. Unlike SOC 2 Type I, which evaluates the design of an organization's controls at a specific point in time, SOC 2 Type II goes further by assessing the operational effectiveness of these controls over a defined period.

The audit focuses on an organization's systems and processes in relation to the Trust Service Criteria. Precoro covered all five of them: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The SOC 2 Type II report provides an in-depth analysis of how effectively an organization's controls are designed and how consistently they operate, offering stakeholders peace of mind regarding the organization's management of data.

Achieving full compliance with the SOC 2 Type II requirements signifies that an organization not only has robust and reliable controls in place but also that these controls are effectively managed and executed over time.
